Talisman Character Vault

Have you ever designed a character to fit within the Talisman game universe? Would you like to take that character and make it available to other Talisman players? Or, do you just want to find some new and unique characters to play? If the answer is yes to any of these, you have come to the right place. This page is a posting area for player created Talisman characters. To submit your characters, e-mail the necessary statistics to: ligeia13@flash.net. I’ll try and read them all (I’m not expecting a great number of them anyway... who really plays Talisman?) and try to post as many of them as possible.

Guidelines for submission: The most important guideline is that any character you send to me for posting be an original. This means that you either have to come up with the basic idea for the character yourself, or cleverly rename a character from another game system / TV show / movie / novel / etc. to avoid the use of any registered trademarks. For example, take a look at the following "familiar" character.

Star Samurai
Timescape Character

START LOCATION: Spaceport
ALLIGNMENT: Good
Strength 2
Craft 4
Special Abilities:

  1. The Power of the Yin: As long as your allignment remains "Good," you can access the power of the Yin, the mystical pool of energy that fills the universe. When you finish your move, one item that is three squares away or less can be brought to your hand with the power of the Yin.
  2. The Dark End: The Yang: If your allignment should ever shift to "Evil," then you lose the power of the Yin, in favor of the Dark End of the Yin, the dreaded Yang. With the Yang, after you complete your turn you may engage another player in psychic combat, or battle an ENEMY-Spirit from a distance of three squares away by firing magical Yang lightening bolts. However, you cannot take objects or gold from other players in this way (you may only take their lives), nor can you gain experience from any spirits defeated in this manner.
  3. Lazer Blade: You begin the game with a Lazer Blade, which adds 2 to your Strength in physical combat. though other players may take your Lazer Blade, they themselves cannot use it.
You get the idea. The rest of the characters I have so far are listed below. Once they get too big, I'll start archiving them.
Werewolf

START LOCATION: Forest
ALLIGNMENT: Neutral
Strength 3
Craft 3
Special Abilities:

  1. Shapeshifting: You have the power to shapeshift. Before entering into Physical Combat, roll a die. On a 1-3, you have shapeshifted and can roll two dice and add both of the results to your strength. On a 4-6, you were unable to shapeshift.
  2. Regeneration: You have the power to regenerate lost lives. Immediately after losing a life, roll a die. If the result is a "6," you immediately regain that lost life, even if that lost life was your last.
  3. Animal Fear: You have a 50% chance to scare ENEMY-Animals. When you encounter animals, they will run away to the discard pile on a 1-3 result on a die roll.
  4. Werewolf Followers: If you encounter the Wolf enemy, you can take it as a follower. The wolf will add its Strength to your for one combat round, then heads off to the discard pile. You can also take the EVENT-Werewolf card as a follower. If one of your followers is turned into a werewolf, instead of fighting it, it becomes your follower and will add its Strength to yours for one combat round, then is discarded.
