Herald - White Dwarf #115

I thought that finding a miniature for the Herald was going to be a really long, drawn out task, but imagine my surprise when Captain Nick volunteered to be the next victim on the desk of horror!

He is from the Citadel F4 Men At Arms range from 1987, and is featured on the Stuff Of Legends website.

EASY! I thought. Just take the top of his head off, replace it with a floppy hat, cut down his halberd and that's that....

How wrong was I? His head ended up too small and the halberd was too short! So in a fit of pique I sliced off his head with a scalpel and removed his hand with some side cutters.

After calming down a little I took his lifeless body over to my bits box and had a root through it.

The good old Empire sprues came up trumps again! A head with a nice hat, a feather and a shield with eagle emblem for his back. I undertook a hand and spear transplant from a Foundry figure I had spare and set to work pinning and putting him together.

I had already fashioned a flag for him in Photoshop so I printed it out and glued it together, bending it whilst it was still wet to give it the illusion of fluttering in the wind.
