Valkyrie - Talisman City

The choice for a miniature to act as the Valkyrie was quite an easy one to make. Games Workshop released a bunch of great miniatures with it's Heroes For Dungeonquest expansion and with those was a lovely lady by the name of Helena The Swift.

The miniature used for Helena The Swift was actually an older figure from the Barbarians range known as "Wonger". If you are wondering what a Wonger is, it is a derivation of Wanger! Though it sounds quite rude, it's actually a "pillow for the cheek".

Wonger and all her marauding friends can be found in the Citadel Catalogue from 1988 at the Stuff Of Legends wesbite along with many other miniatures.

The pictures shown here were actually sent to me by Nick Cooper and I think he's done a fantastic job of capturing the Valkyrie's likeness. My figure was just to be a painted miniature with no sculpting at all!

Nick has added the relevent bits of clothing to the figure using Milliput and painted it in the colours of the original character token.

I think you'll agree that he has done a great job with her!

It looks like I may have to get busy with the Green Stuff myself and alter my model before it gets painted!
