It’s been a hot minute since I posted on the site, as everyone has been struggling to stay cool and hydrated, plus I’ve been pursuing a few other interests AND I’ve actually been touching grass… or actually soil… as we’ve busied ourselves in the garden! Burning skyball willing…
First up, apologies for the lengthy absence, but I’ve not gone anywhere. There has been a little ‘disenchantment’ over the whole no-show of Talisman Sagas: Crown of Blood at UK Games Expo, and certain other things ‘behind the scenes’, but life is good!
So, where to start? First up, I finally got hold of my own copy of Crown of Blood, which I had to order from Australia at great expense!?!?!
That was exciting enough, but when Talisman Superfan – Katie B. – offered to paint up the figures for me, that was just the icing on the cake!

As you can see, the Dark Lord arrived in his coffin filled with soil from his homeland and safely avoided the sun’s harsh rays to make it to my desktop!
I am so pleased with how these turned out and you can have a look at Kate’s own painted figures, along with her thematic centre region over on BoardGameGeek following the link below.
Following on from UK Games Expo, where my son convinced me to start up a Warhammer 40,000 army so that we could play together, I’ve been a tad obsessed with collecting Deathwatch miniatures and have been trying to recreate the various sets that Games Workshop have bundled together over the years.

Of course, being me, I had to make up a little page about it all to catalogue my efforts and will be adding images of my army as it develops.
As you can see, my desk is currently a little ‘cramped’.

In other news, those hard-working goblins from Nomad Games have been very busy, with updates for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition to add Steam Community Items to the mix and some new Quality of Life and Community Feedback fixes and features. There’s even a couple of new bundles to help you complete your digital collections!
It’s a little late in the day, but they have all sorts of discounts running on various platforms until this weekend too! You can read all about it, and more at their second Inner Region Report for July 2026!

In YouTube news, Those irreverent Bathrobe Boys™, GlenOneN and LordZodz have been extra busy over at the Talisman Tavern this month playing a boatload of games of Talisman with fans and the usual chat!
You can also jam out to the new unofficial Talisman theme tune…
The people behind Always Board, Never Boring were lucky enough to snag a copy of Crown of Blood from Hasbro and have produced a video showcasing its contents for you all to enjoy!
Give them all a like and subscribe while you are visiting their channels!
Lastly, for now, the tinkerers over at the Polish Magia i Miecz forums, high on their success at the recent Pyrkon event where none other than Bob Harris was in attendence, have knocked it out of the park again with a new project.

This time it’s a set of miniatures based on the original artwork used in their localised edition of Talisman from back in the day, and I must say they look fabulous!
Stay tuned for news about how to grab them when they are made available.
Okay, that should do it for now. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some things that’ve happened recently, and I’ll certainly be making some site updates in the next week or so with new downloads to help you create your own cards and characters for the game.
Check back soon(ish) and in the mean time, stay safe in this damnable heat and keep gaming!
