I doubt that there’ll be much to report over the weekend on the new Talisman Sagas: Crown of Blood expansion, or Fury of Dracula for that matter, so I figured I’d post a couple of things that I used to make posts out of on social media, when it was a little more sociable.
…and just to prove me wrong, the postie has just knocked on the door to bring me another t shirt from the lovely Talisman Realm folk so that I don’t have to smell too badly by on the second day at UK Games Expo!

Just in case you might be going to UK Games Expo at the end of May, I’ll be there from the Thursday afternoon-ish so that I’m fresh for the Friday rush and leaving at some time in the afternoon of the Saturday. Feel free to come and say hello if you see me about!
I imagine I’ll be hanging around the Avalon Hill stand from time to time, but the plan is that I’ll actually be able to have a proper look around the place rather than a quick rush around and then back home the same day!
I never think of myself or the site as being ‘press accreditation worthy’, so I won’t be able to see what’s in the Show Preview on the Thursday night, though if anyone from UK Games Expo thinks that a particularly niche board game fan site might actually be worthy, then please do reach out!
Anyway, back to (even more) rambling!
On the Yellowfly website, the people behind a lot of the art for the new edition of Talisman, I noticed an image there that was named HAS-TALISMAN-STYLE-TEST-STREAM, so I think it’s safe to assume that it was a piece to work out what art style to use in the game.

The art was made by Daniel Serebrov, and features on his website named as a TALISMAN CONCEPT.

I really like this type of art, and I still don’t really know what it is called. It’s the type of thing that I was drawn towards for the cover art that I used for the Realms of Adventure and Realms Untravelled fan expansions a while back.
Yesterday I posted about how I wanted to alter the card backs used for the physical conversion of Talisman: The City Classic from Nomad Games and I figured I’d post an example of what I mean.

The cards for the Shop decks use the Purchase card front, but the corners of the card backs are based on Adventure cards, rather than Purchase cards.
I’ll be making both type available so that people can choose, but I’m going to be using the altered versions for my copy.
You can check out the expansion over on Steam and make sure you take a look at the Warhammer Classics sale that’s on at the moment where you can save some money on Talisman: Digital Classic Edition and the newly resurrected Talisman: The Horus Heresy and Talisman: Origins!
