I thought it’d be nice to give a bit of an update on what’s been going on at Talisman Island over the last few weeks, given that I deliberately didn’t update the news so that the free download of the Talisman Adventures Fantasy RPG would get more coverage!

You’ll have seen the latest about the demise of the system, so I won’t go over that again, but here are a few things that you might not have seen in recent weeks.

First up, there’s a fabulous article about how Talisman ultra fan, Katie B, created her 3D playing area for Talisman, and it’s a cracking job!

I’ve also been trawling my various folders and uploading various expansions that I realised I hadn’t shared over the last year or more, so that people can actually get the benefit of them for their own games!

Resources > Expansions > Talisman Revised 4th Edition

Resources > Expansions > Talisman: Legendary Tales

Resources > Expansions > Warhammer 40,000: Relic

Resources > Expansions > Elder Sign

…and yes, Elder Sign from Fantasy Flight Games! I’ve recently got bitten once again by the bug and started creating some content for the game!

Now that the Talisman Adventures Fantasy RPG has gone off sale, I’ve made an archive of the free assets that were available for the game so they aren’t lost to the ages. You can also find a range of homebrew adventures and the like!

I’ve also made up some proxy miniatures to use with Rebel StudiosChronicles of Avel game using Hero Forge, and uploaded links to them!

The time has come to try and clear out the boxes from under my stairs, so I’ve slowly been adding the remaining bits and pieces of my non-English collection of Talisman and other games over on the Talisman Island Facebook page (for ease) and the latest selection is still available. If you are a Polish speaker, living in the UK, and fancy either a localised copy of Talisman: Legendary Tales or Relic and its two expansions for a reasonable price, you could be in luck!

Finally, there’s been some progress in my long time wish to have a set of shields created for those Talisman 2nd Edition miniatures that should have them.

The very talented Mike from BMT3D sculpted some awesome likenesses of the above shields and I’ve finally got some master prints of them to add to my extra miniatures!

I’ve not decided on how these might be made available for people to use, but it’s possible that, rather than releasing the STL files, they’ll be made into physical products. I’ll post more about that when the final details are sorted out!

Anyway, that’s just about it for what’s been happening in the background, and I’ll make sure I don’t leave it so long before I post again.

Take care all!

/Jon
